My name is Nina Joanna Dmyterko and I am a ceramic artist.
For around six years, I have been creating professionally, developing my own style based on experimentation with form and decoration.
I create objects with soft, organic shapes, covered with repetitive, colorful patterns. Each piece is made by hand through a long, multi-stage process that requires great attentiveness and precision. I work in short series or create one-off pieces, striving to maintain a balance between repetition and uniqueness. Preserving the individual character of each form is an essential part of my practice.
In my work, I aim to capture the inner beauty of nature and our connection to it. I am also inspired by the traditions and art of indigenous cultures from different parts of the world.
I graduated with a degree in Photography from the University of the Arts London, where I lived for over 20 years. I gained professional experience as a photographer through collaborations with institutions such as Tate Modern, internships at respected venues like Hot Shoe Gallery, and by working alongside many established artists.
My transition from photography to ceramics was a conscious decision. Over time, I felt the need for a closer connection with material and the creative process itself—and I found that in ceramics.
Currently, I work between Poland and England, and my studio is located in Pszczyna.
